Remembrance 2020
This film was created for Remembrance Sunday 2020 to enable the local
community to join together in reflection and remember all of those people affected by past and present conflicts in the world.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic it was not possible to follow the traditional arrangements for Remembrance Sunday. We are very grateful to David Fairweather for making this film for the people of Isleworth.
Note:- the names on the sashes are those of the six servicemen from the Isleworth Memorial who are unknown to the Commonwealth Wargraves Commission. We are campaigning to have them included.

The Isleworth 390 Project Outline
The Project
To commemorate and recognise each of the 390 individuals of Isleworth who died serving in WW1. A parade was organised on the 9th Nov 2014 which saw 390 school children, each wearing a sash with one of the fallen soldiers’ names on, parade around Isleworth before the centenary service at the Isleworth War Memorial.
The Community
People are the cornerstone of the Isleworth 390 project. Bringing together the community to reflect and give respect to those who died. Educating people on WW1 and teaching how to research and document the soldiers’ lives, giving individuals skills to use going forward.
The Legacy
This project will leave a legacy for people to access and learn about the Isleworth 390 soldiers for years to come. Who they were, where they lived and what impact WW1 had on Isleworth at the time. Our programme of event dates will be released as and when they arise and will involve: talks, discussion groups, displays covering first two years, workshops and skill training to those who wish to be involved in documenting the 390 lives.
The Fallen Soldiers…

John Henry Collier
The son of William and Annie Collier, was born in 1890. The census records him living at the George Inn, South Street Isleworth, in 1901 and 1911, where his father was the publican.
Bombadier Collier (44145) was a soldier in the Royal Horse and Royal Field Artillery. He enlisted in Woolwich and was killed in action in Salonika in the Balkan theatre on 22nd April 1917. He is commemorated in the Doiran Military Cemetery. His headstone record confirms that he married Florence V Wood (in1915) and that they resided in 434, London Road Isleworth.

Our Project Partners
We are working with 3 churches, 7 schools and several other bodies on this project. Without all their help this project would never have materialised.
